It's October 10th here in the UK so here is my tribute. To whomever gets to portray the man of steel in the next Superman movie, I hope they have the eloquence and intelligence of this guy. Still my hero :)

I was saddened more than I care to admit to hear that Tom Mankiewicz passed away last week. If nothing else the Superman documentaries on the Superman: The Movie DVD release reveals the great creative partnership between director Richard Donner and creative consultant Tom Mankiewicz when working on Superman The Movie and Superman II. So Glasgow was great fun - went to a restaurant followed by a club on the Saturday and it was great meeting some of Rach's work colleagues and students at the university she works at. So today was Stephen Gately's funeral. I've not seen any of the news coverage apart from some photos on the front pages of the tabloids. I hope it gave family and friends some closure.
